Born & Raised Charters, a Backwater Adventure affiliate, welcomes you for a fun-filled day of tight lines in the 10,000 Islands with one of the few true native charter Captains, Captain Tyler Gresham.

Captain Tyler Gresham was born and raised in the small fishing village that borders the 10,000 Islands known as Goodland, just outside of Marco Island, Florida. He has been on the water essentially since he was born and began fishing as soon as he could hold a rod and reel. Captain Tyler was fortunate to have several great mentors in Goodland growing up, many of which were some of the best fishermen in SWFL. From these great mentors, he not only learned to fish but, learned to embrace fishing as a way of life and an opportunity to share fun, exciting and challenging moments with others. He found growing up that some of his best moments of life were on the water with a rod in hand…it’s been his mission from a young age to be able to continue creating those moments and sharing them with others to create long lasting memories that can be talked about for years to come. While there are many great fishing charters in SWFL, there is only one operated by a true 10,000 Island native who was raised among the mangroves in one of the largest mangrove forests in the world.

Aboard the beautiful 24′ Shearwater Center Console, named Betsy, Captain Tyler will have everything you need to have a successful day on the water. Equipped with a 300HP Yamaha to get fishing fast, top of the line electronics, a wireless trolling motor, a flybridge for better viewing, and a large livewell and icebox for storing bait and fish. Betsy has the capacity for up to 6 people, so whether you’re an experienced solo looking for a new challenge or a family with kids that have never fished, looking for an experience of a lifetime, this rig is set up perfectly for great catches and great memories for all.

Born & Raised Charters provides all of the rods, reels, tackle, licenses, ice, bottled water and there is plenty of dry storage on the vessel for your personal belongings. It is recommended that you bring a hat, sunglasses (polarized is best), sunscreen (non-spray as it can create slippery surfaces), a camera, snacks and other beverages if you wish. Be sure to wear adequate clothing and footwear for a day of fishing.

It will be up to you whether you’ll take home your catches or release them back in to the water. Captain Tyler is happy to clean and bag your catch so that it is ready for cooking as soon as your back home (in accordance with all local and state size and seasonal regulations)
